摘要 | PURPOSE:To offer the blue laser device of high reliability stable to mechanical oscillation and temperature variation, by a method wherein a distributed feedback semiconductor laser and an LiNbO3 optical waveguide produced by ion exchange are made integral by adhesion. CONSTITUTION:The joint of the light emission end of a distributed feedback semiconductor laser 5 with the incidence end of an optical waveguide 6 are inclined to the active layer 7 of the semiconductor laser 5, then joining them by adhesion via clear substance 14. In other words, since said laser 5 does not utilize the end surface as the resonance mirror, the optical waveguide 6 and the end surface can be joined to each other. Further, the stability of characteristics is contrived by elimination of the effects of end surface reflection by obliquely joining them, and the size of the end surface of the optical waveguide 6 on the semiconductor laser 5 side is partly increased, thus improving the coupling efficiency.
