| 摘要 | PURPOSE:To reduce a thermal resistance by providing a recess on the partial region of the rear face of a semiconductor substrate, and filling a material having better thermal conductivity than that of the substrate in the recess. CONSTITUTION:A recess is formed partly on a semiconductor substrate 3, a material having better thermal conductivity than that of the substrate 3 is filled in the recess, thereby enhancing the thermal conductivity between an active unit 4 and a heat sink 2. Accordingly, heat generated from the unit 4 is transferred to the material having better thermal conductivity, and fed rapidly to the sink 2. Thus, since the thermal resistance of a semiconductor laser can be reduced, the thermal resistance of a whole semiconductor laser including the sink can be decreased. |
