摘要	PURPOSE: To enable generation of deformation limit (or subordinate deformation limit) pulse by composing an integrated light guide means of 1st and 2nd sections and a saturable absorber section, applying power to a contact means at a position between the saturable absorber section and 1st and 2nd reflecting means, forming almost simultaneously a pair of respective pulses inside the waveguide means and letting a pair of respective pulses colliding at the saturable absorber section. CONSTITUTION: On a semiconductor, an electrode 14 defining a saturable absorber section, electrodes 150 and 151 defining 3rd and 4th sections and electrodes 160 and 161 defining the 1st and 2nd sections are respectively formed. The electrodes 150 and 151 are electrically connected, the electrodes 160 and 161 are electrically connected as well, and an electrode 17 is defined as a contact with a substrate. The 1st and 2nd sections respectively have equal length, and in a cavity, a symmetric mirror is formed by a non-covered opened plane. To the pulses propagating in opposite directions, a dc bias is applied from two generated sections together with an overlap RF current, for example, and these two pulses are made to 'collide' at the saturable absorber section. In this case, an RF power source means is connected to a symmetrically arranged contact tab 18, and this contact tab 18 is connected to the respective electrodes by a microstrip or a waveguide on the same plane.
