摘要	PURPOSE:To prevent completely erroneous recording even if a recording point is dislocated greatly from its focal point by external vibration by obtaining a track-off detecting signal from a focus signal and controlling the output of a light source according to that signal. CONSTITUTION:Half of a beam B4, which is splitted on a half mirror 7, of a reflected beam B2 from a spot projected to a track T of an optical disc 6 is enclosed on a knife edge, and the other half is projected on focusing error detection photoreceiving elements 11a and 11b by being focused by a condenser lens 10. If external vibration occurs suddenly, dislocation from the focal point increases, although a correct track-off detecting signal can be obtained based on a threshold ppropriately set using the characteristics that the signal level of the focal signal is not weakened against large dislocation from the focal point. This permits to prevent erroneous recording completely by switching the output of semiconductor laser 1 by an output control means 12 according to that detecting signal.
