摘要	An embodiment includes an apparatus comprising: a silicon layer that includes a concave surface; an aluminum layer on the surface; and a waveguide coupled to the surface; wherein (a) the surface is curved and concave in both vertical and horizontal planes that intersect the surface, and (b) the surface has a horizontal and vertical radii of curvature (ROC) substantially equal to each other. Other embodiments are described herein.
