摘要	Output power of light emitted from a data transmission light source is determined based upon forward voltage, forward current, ambient temperature and a factor specific to the manner in which the light source is mounted. Output power is determined with sufficient accuracy to control operation of the data transmission light source for compliance with eye safety and transmission protocol requirements without use of a complex lens and monitor diode.
