The visible framing ICCD camera is a high-speed 2D image detector that can obtain the low-light emission phenomena, such as explosion imaging, fluorescence imaging, time of flight imaging and surface defects. The framing camera mainly includes an image splitter, four ICCD cameras, the precision delay module and the gate module. A highperformance visible framing intensified charge-coupled device (ICCD) camera was successfully designed and applied to the explosion measurement. The quantum efficiency at the wavelength of 496 nm was 15.72% and the ICCD camera gain was more than 3.0 × 104. Using the designed gate module, the high-voltage pulse width of 53 ns was obtained in the test experiment. Based on the Rayleigh criterion, the spatial resolution of framing ICCD camera was 32 lp/mm. The experimental results shown that the designed framing ICCD camera was an important instrument, which was beneficial for recording and studying on the ultra-fast low light process. © 2023 IEEE.
