摘要 | PURPOSE:To facilitate coupling with other optical systems by a method wherein the center of the emission window for a main laser beam and for a monitor beam is in line with the optical axis vertical to a bottom and a hollow screw and the bottom of a cap are concentrically formed. CONSTITUTION:A bottom 1 and cap 9 are hermetically sealed at flanges 19, 19' in dried N2. A main laser beam 14 is focused, for coupling with an optical fiber, by a lens positioned just outside a window panel 1 A monitor beam 15 is thrown outward through a window panel 8 and then through the cavity 3 of a screw 4. Accordingly, a photodiode located at an end of the screw 4 senses and determines the relative optical energy of the monitor beam 14. By attaching a coupling lens at the center of a main beam transmitting window 111 or hermetically attaching a lens to an opening 10 instead of the window panel 11, a laser diode is obtained that may effectively be coupled to an optical fiber without an external lens. |
