摘要 | PURPOSE:To effectively stabilize the frequencies of a local oscillator and a transmitter in an optical communication system, wherein a part of the output of a reference oscillator for transmission in a coherent beam communication is used as the local oscillator of a light-receiving part, by a method wherein the transmitter and a receiver, both for coherent beam transmission, are constituted monolithically. CONSTITUTION:A groove 12 is bored in the surface of a substrate 1 in almost a rectangle form and the surface is divided into two. An optical waveguide path 8 for reception light, which has a diffraction latice 10 for synthesizing in the middle thereof and a photoreceptor 11 at the terminal thereof, is formed in the surface of one side of the substrate 1, facing to the incident light. Moreover, an optical direction 4, which has a distribution feedback type semiconductor laser 3, a diffraction lattice 6 for feedback, a diffraction lattice 7 for branching, a similar semiconductor laser 2 and a diffraction lattice 5 for feedback, is provided from the groove 12 side in parallel to the optical waveguide path 8, and light is emitted from the lattice 5 side. In this constitution, the lattices 10 and 7 are kept having been mutually connected by an optical waveguide path 9 for branching light, and a photoreceptors 14 are arranged across the groove 12 through an optical waveguide path 13, opposing to each other on the laser 3. Frequencies, which generate in such a way, are efficiently stabilized. |
