摘要	PURPOSE:To effectively constitute a stable window structure semiconductor laser. CONSTITUTION:A main surface 1a is formed of a crystal face (100). At least a clad layer 3, an active layer 4, and a clad layer 5 are sequentially formed by a vapor growth method on a base 1 having a mesa protrusion 2 having both end edges in a crystallographic axis direction [011] on the main surface, and a window structure of a semiconductor layer having a larger band gap than that of the active layer having a side of a crystal face (01-1) is formed oppositely to both ends of a resonator by the active layer on the protrusion 2.
