摘要PURPOSE:To accurately monitor a forward output light by receiving part of the forward laser light having large intensity by a photoreceptor to monitor the intensity of the laser light. CONSTITUTION:The end side of a heat sink 2 is retracted further deeply from the surface for mounting a submount 3, and an oblique surface 12 for securing a photoreceptor 11 is provided at the end side. The photoreceptor 11 is secured to the surface 12. The photoreceptor 11 receives the light near the outer periphery of the laser light 5 emitted from the upper end of a laser chip 4 as a monitor for detecting the light output. On the other hand, three leads 13 are mounted at a stem One lead 13 is electrically connected with the stem 1, and the other two leads 13 are secured through the stem to insulate from the stem 1, and the upper ends of the two leads 13 are electrically connected with the electrodes of the chip 4 through wirings 14.
