摘要PURPOSE:To improve recording density by forming several types of bits, in which the length-wise direction is different, on an optical disk, discriminating these bits at the time of reproduction and obtaining a signal. CONSTITUTION:On an optical disk 6, at least 3 types of a bit 30 in which in accordance with the recording signal of two multiplexed systems, a lengthwise direction is inclined approximately to + or -45 deg. and 0 deg. for a bit string are formed. Out of respective beams to reflect the disk 6, one side light flux to transmit a half mirror 4' is separated to a P deflecting component and an S deflecting component by a polarization beam splitter 3' and made incident on light detectors 8a and 8b respectively. The output signal from respective detectors 8a and 8b is reproduced through reproducing signal detecting circuits 60a and 60b provided in order to output the recording signal of two independent systems as a digital signal as recording signals A and B of two independent systems. Thus, since the information signal of plural independent systems can be multiplexed and recorded, the recording density can be improved.
